THANGKA WITH DRAGON AND MANTRA

This is a Masterpiece thangka with a rare calligraphy.
This Master has a delicate, fine and harmonious calligraphy, painted with one line brush.

The painting is signed in the lower right section. 

THANGKA WITH DRAGON AND MANTRA 

In this paiting, the inscriptions are a Mantra in Tibetan language, or a repeated prayer, in order to support the symbol in the center, The written prayer is pronounced: "Om-mani-padme-hum" and the meaning attributed is universal love and compassion, which represent the foundations of Buddhism. 

Symbol in the center, Dragon:
For Asian traditions, Dragons are considered a helpful and benevolent sacred mythical beasts.
These mythological animals are part of the "Four Dignities", which are: the dragon, the garuḍa, the tiger, and the snow lion.The dragon brings health, energy, wisdom, prosperity, abundance, longevity, and power. According to Tibetan legends, dragons have the ability to communicate ideas as well as a strong ability to discern what is true from what is fake. The Tibetan dragon is a strong symbol of luck and used to attract good of fortune.
Dragon is also the protector of Buddhist Knowledge. 

In the middle of external section, there are 4 Om Symbols: 
OM symbol is the symbol of harmony. It indicates the "sound of Creation" in which all things vibrate and live in material reality. The symbol of the AUM, or even written OM, in fact represents the primordial union with creation. So it exhorts an intimate connection at peace with the whole thing. 

In the corners of external section, there are 4 Dorje:
The Dorje or Crossed Dorje is a symbol of protection from obstacles. Dorje is a Sanskrit word which means lightning or even diamond. This means power and indestructibility.
So in this case the Vajra or Dorje indicates an impenetrable protection. 


The material is cotton canvas, and the colors are water-soluble pigments, both minerals and organic materials, tempered with a solution of grass and glue.
